About TolaPoint

TolaSystem is a Precision Recovery System built by practicing physical therapy clinicians who believe everyone deserves access to real, lasting pain relief. Most people live in bodies that feel tight, sore, and restricted. TolaPoint was built to change that.

Meet the Precision Recovery System

Most people reach for foam rollers, massage guns, or stretching routines when pain sets in. But these tools are designed for broad coverage, not precision. They move over the surface of the problem without ever getting to the source. The result is temporary relief at best, and frustration at worst.

TolaPoint was created because the body does not need more random pressure. It needs targeted, sustained pressure applied to the exact points where tension lives. That is the only way to get real, lasting relief.

Where It Started

Most recovery tools end up in a closet because they never delivered on their promise. TolaSystem was designed to be different. Compact enough to fit in a backpack, built from the same ultra-durable ABS resin used to make LEGO blocks, and engineered for endless configuration options, it fits into your daily routine and delivers the kind of consistent, targeted relief that changes how your body feels over time. Users consistently report that the more they use it, the more effective it becomes.

TolaSystem was developed over six years by a physical therapist with more than 24 years of hands-on manual therapy experience who kept running into the same problem. Patients would make meaningful progress in the clinic, then lose it between visits because nothing available at home could reach the specific areas that needed attention.

Foam rollers were too broad. Massage guns were too aggressive. Tennis balls rolled out from underneath. There was no tool that combined the reach, the precision, the adjustability, and the control that effective trigger point release actually requires. So he built one from scratch, testing and refining it over years of clinical practice until it could do what nothing else could: apply deep, precise pressure to hard-to-reach soft tissues including muscles, tendons, and joint capsules anywhere on the body.

Our mission is simple: Give people the tools and knowledge to take control of their bodies

Because when your body moves well, everything in life moves better. TolaSystem gives you the precision tools and simple knowledge to take control of your own recovery, at home, on your schedule, without needing anyone else to do it for you.

The Name

TolaSystem takes its name from the Hogsback peaks in the Amatola mountain range of southeastern South Africa, a region said to have inspired Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

The system is built around three carefully designed points or peaks, each engineered to a specific diameter and contour for a specific purpose. The name carries personal significance for the original designer, who as a high school student took part in a grueling annual challenge to climb four mountain peaks in the Amatola range in a single day.

That spirit of doing hard things, with the right tools and the right preparation, is built into every component of the system.

How it Works

When you apply sustained, targeted pressure to a trigger point, you will initially feel an increase in discomfort. That is an indication you are in the right place. Hold the position, breathe, and allow your body weight to do the work. Within 15 to 90 seconds, you will feel the release: a sensation described as pressure giving way, like ice melting in a heated pot. Pain decreases. Movement returns. The muscle resets.

TolaSystem was engineered to make that moment possible anywhere on your body. The system includes three precisely sized probes. The Tola 750 has the widest tip and is the ideal starting point for most users. The Tola 500 is the most popular and delivers more focused pressure for the same body weight. The Tola 350 has the sharpest contour and is designed for precise work on smaller muscles in the hands and feet. Two adjustable wedges let you change the angle of treatment by up to 20 degrees, allowing you to reach muscles that can only be accessed at a specific angle, like the paraspinal muscles alongside the spine or the muscles at the base of the skull. The rocker base elevates the probe and converts the system into a comfortable hand-held tool for the areas you can reach yourself.

You can use it lying on the floor, seated at your desk, or standing against a wall or door frame. You control the pressure by how much body weight you allow onto the probe. No muscle is out of reach, and no appointment is required.

The science behind the relief

Myofascial trigger point therapy has been studied extensively across peer-reviewed clinical research. Studies have demonstrated that targeted compression applied directly to trigger points produces measurable reductions in pain and improvements in range of motion.

Research published in peer-reviewed journals including The Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies and The Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy supports sustained pressure release as one of the most effective non-invasive approaches to treating myofascial pain.

TolaSystem was designed by a physical therapist with this evidence at its foundation.

These principles guide everything we build and everything we do

Pain relief should be precise, accessible, and grounded in real knowledge. These are the principles that have guided TolaSystem from the beginning and will continue to drive everything we build.
